Welcome to the website for the Accelerated Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education Program. In this teacher education program, candidates move through 3 years—8 consecutive semesters—of field and coursework to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education degree. Required fall, spring, and summer experiences include rural, urban, and virtual fieldwork. An international capstone experience is strongly recommended and supported with scholarships.

The mission of the Accelerated Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in the College of Human Resources and Education at West Virginia University is to prepare teachers of today for students of tomorrow by providing a high quality teacher preparation program based on effective practices with a particular focus on active participation in rural, urban, and international settings. This global vision is supported by the effective use of technology.
